What we know about the drains in Woking
Large parts of Woking are low lying and close to the Basingstoke Canal and the Wey, which means high water tables in places. A high water table changes everything about a soakaway: if the ground is already saturated it will not take surface water, and the answer is attenuation or a connection rather than a bigger hole.
