What we know about the drains in Camberley
Camberley sits largely on Bagshot Sands, which percolates well. That is good news for soakaways, and it is why properly sized soakaway drainage works here where it fails a few miles west on the clay. It also means sandy sub-grades that need compacting properly under a driveway or the surface will rut.
The older stock around Camberley town centre and Frimley has clay drainage with the usual root problems, and a lot of it runs under later extensions and conservatories. That is where locating the run before anyone digs saves the most money.
Deepcut and the former military land around Mytchett include properties on private and shared drainage systems where the records are poor. Tracing and mapping the runs is often the first job.
