Drainage and groundworks in Fleet

What we know about the drains in Fleet
Elvetham Heath and the newer Fleet estates are on modern plastic drainage, usually with private pumping stations and attenuation serving groups of houses. Those systems are fine until they are not maintained, and responsibility for them is often unclear to residents. Some transferred to the water company by October 2016, some did not.
1970s and 80s Fleet estates commonly used pitch fibre for drainage. It is the material we most often find deformed on camera in this postcode, and it is the reason a survey before purchase is worth more here than in many areas.
Fleet's ground holds water in places, which is why we see so many flooding driveways and waterlogged gardens around Church Crookham. Usually the answer is channel drainage and a properly sized soakaway rather than more gravel.
